Planning a Craft Market….

Stamford Artisans Guildis a lot of fun but can sometimes be quite scary as well! What if not enough people come, what if NO ONE comes?

In the initial few weeks of being involved in planning the Stamford Artisans Guild Christmas Craft Market I have been through the whole range of feelings….. from elation to despondency, from a rush of energy to complete exhaustion.

And now I am in a state of contentment because I know that we have worked hard to get the event publicised, the website is getting seen and local crafters are contacting us for stalls. Everyone has got involved in promoting the event by telling friends and family and as soon as the posters and flyers arrive all stall holders have offered to put them up in their area and at businesses they know. Oh it’s great knowing such a fantastic and talented group of people. Thank you all the 2009 Stamford Christmas Market Stall Holders

And of course a Special THANK YOU to the Founder members of the Stamford Artisans Guild – Archives Crafts, Fell From Grace, Greensleaves Florist and Stamford Lapidary for their hard work and support. The ideas flowing in have been quite inspiring and we are confident that visitors to our Hand-made Christmas Fair will have a great time browsing through the unique items on display, interacting directly with the artists and makers and doing their Christmas Gifts Shopping in a relaxed and friendly environment. And the Good News is that the Stamford Art Centre Coffee Shop will be open on the day serving up hot food, cakes (they are superb!) and beverages.

There is even going to be a Handmade Gifts Secret Draw every hour giving the visitors a chance to win beautiful and unique presents Hand crafted by Stamford Artisans Guild members.

Look forward to seeing you all at the Stamford Arts Centre on 6th December 2009 for this Yuletide Celebration of Local Crafts.

If you enjoyed this post, please do leave a comment, I would love to hear from you :-) (But no spamming please!)

  1. I do hope you’ll be running this again next year. I have just found your site, and do a number of craft markets and fairs. Organizing a craft market can be so much fun, but so much work, so you need to have a good team of people behind you. Thats what really makes it work. Well done!

    Hi,
Thanks for your message. I am definitely going to plan and organise more craft Fairs locally in the future. We had a great show :-)

I really cannot thank the Stamford Artisans Guild Team and the participating Artisans enough for their hard work and support in making our first event so special.
